Is SPL coverage even across the designated coverage area?
- Do you currently aurally attack the audience members in the expensive front rows in order to generate sufficient SPL at the back of the coverage area?
- MAD arrays generate their “throw” capabilities by utilizing very directional drives which couple progressively to reach the back of the coverage areas. This means that audience members in the front of the coverage area only hear a portion of the total array, and are not subjected to excessive SPL.
- A very interesting aspect of MAD arrays is their ability to project detailed information across great distances. Thus, sound at the back of the coverage area is always clean and clear, potentially reducing the overall SPL requirements of a system.
