Yes, but it goes beyond this and it is more proper to say that the MAD Array is a Planar Magnetic Surface Array™. It works as a line array in both vertical and horizontal direction. Directivity, control, and throw of the sound are much better than in other "classical" line array systems. The MAD Array can project sound hundreds of feet away without losing sonic details.
